Youth Palestinian Musicians Participated in an International Youth Musician Camp in Grenoble

A Youth Musician group from the Edward Saed Conservatory of Music participated in an International Youth Musician Camp in the City of Grenoble -France from June 13 until June 24, 2007. This Camp comes as part of the Working Program between Beit Sahour Municipality and Grenoble Municipality for the Year 2007, to enhance the already established twinship between the two cities.

The leader of the Musician group Mr. Duqmaq declared that the Palestinian musicians had performed a music concert together with musicians from South Africa, Britain, Italy, France and the United States of America. He added “this experiment was their first and they gained a lot of experience while working with other musicians from different cultures and backgrounds.

During the Camp, all the musicians were taken on a tour to the city of Grenoble and to the Alps Mountains and they met with the some of the Palestinians who are residing abroad.

The names of the Palestinian participants and their instruments are:

1- Salam Al Bandak - Oud
2- Michel Rishmawi - Qanoun
3- Ala Ishaq - Violin
4- Fadi Abu Aitah - Flute
5- Tariq Srour- Percussion
6- Joseph Duqmaq- Saxophon and a Leader
7- Ahmad Khateeb- Group Leader
