Beit Sahour Municipality and Romans Municipality organized a music concert at the Peace Center

The municipalities of Beit Sahour and Romans organized a music concert for the music group Avazion as part of the project entitled "Voices for Peace" in collaboration with the Society of French culture and the cultural centers of the French consulate in Jerusalem and Bethlehem Peace Center. The French General Consul General in Jerusalem, Mr. Alain Rémy, the Mayor of Beit Sahour, Mr. Hani Al-Hayek, Mayor of Bethlehem D. Victor Battarseh and some members of the Beit Sahour municipal council, and representatives from local institutions in the Governorate of Bethlehem were present at the concert.

The Municipality of Beit Sahour hosted the band in the city of Beit Sahour for four days. The mayor Mr. Hani Al- Hayek welcomed them and gave them a brief on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories. In addition, the Municipality arranged a round visit for the group to see the Apartheid Wall, the bypass Road some religious sites. By the same token, they met with Palestinian musicians from the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Beit Sahour.

At the end of the visit, the delegation thanked the Mayor and the municipal employees for the warm reception and hospitality they have receive while in Beit Sahour, and said that they always sang for peace, freedom and justice to spread throughout the world. Today, they sing to Palestine with hope that peace will prevail in Palestine, and added that Palestine will always be in their hearts.

Correspondingly, in the year 2008, a music concert will take place in Romans- France, a group of musicians from Beit Sahour will participate in the event.
