The Arab Orthodox Club and the Beit Sahour Cultural Divan honor the students for their outstanding achievements in the “Al Tawjihi” Exams

Under the patronage of the Mayor of Beit Sahour Mr. Hani Al-Hayek, the Arab Orthodox Club and the Beit Sahour Cultural Divan organized a ceremony to honor and reward the students for their outstanding achievement this year in the General High School Examination (Al Tawjihi). The ceremony hosted a number of Principles and teachers of secondary schools and heads of institutions in the city and a wide audience of parents and guardians and of course the honored students.

The ceremony started by standing silently for one minute in honor of the souls of the martyrs followed by the National Palestinians Anthem. Eng Samer Taweel, Chairman of the Arab Orthodox Club, welcomed the audience and he congratulated the students, the teachers and the parents for this year’s amazing results and he invited the students to further continue their education so that they can contribute positively to their society and country, and he emphasized that the club had always been and will continue to serve and support young people and their education.

Moreover, the writer Mr. Yacoub Al-Atrash, Head of the Beit Sahour Cultural Divan, congratulated the graduates for the success that they have accomplished despite all the difficult circumstances and he added that “we commend the efforts of administrators, teachers and parents who had sacrificed a significant impact to access this impressive success achieved by their children”. He also praised the importance of the adoption of books and making books take place in our daily lives because by reading we can widen our knowledge and we will be able to compete with others.

The mayor of Beit Sahour in his turn encouraged the students to choose topics that suit their skills, desires and abilities. He also called on city institutions to establish a fund to support university education.

During this ceremony, a folklore dance “Dabkah” and traditional songs were presented by the club’s band. At the end of the ceremony, rewards were distributed to top graduates.
