Signing an agreement to embark on a new centre
The singing ceremony took place at the cultural and Heritage centre “Dar Dakarat”, with the participation of the municipality staff, the municipal council members and community prominent figures. Mayor Hani Al- Hayek welcomed the Japanese Embassy representative Mr. Tetsushi Kondou and Ms. Kayo Kasai Embassy project’s officer and he thanked them and the Japanese Government for their support of this vital project and their support to the Palestinians in general. For his part, Mr. Kondou thanked the mayor and the audience for the warm hospitality and great reception, and expressed his happiness for being in the city of the Shepherds’ Field where the Angels first announced to the shepherds the birth of Jesus Christ – the messenger of love and peace. He also added that the Japanese Government will donate the sum amount of ($ 85,550) in favor of the mother and child Care centre stressing that the Japanese government continues to provide support and assistance to the NGO’s in the field of health, which include rehabilitation and construction of medical clinics and purifying drinking water with a view to improving the living conditions of the Palestinians. |
On Thursday January 31, 2008, a signing ceremony of a grant agreement took place between the Japanese Embassy; represented by the Head of the Representative Office of Japan to the Palestinian Authority Mr. Tetsushi Kondou and the Municipality of Beit Sahour represented by the mayor Mr. Hani Al-Hayek. The project is intended to move the present mother and child clinic from its very old and poorly location to a new and spatial building that the grant will help to finalize. A diabetics and eye clinic will be added to the already existing medical services since the new premises have the space capacity to host this very much needed medical services.
