The Polish Representative to the Palestinian National Authority visited the municipality of Beit Sahour
The Mayor welcomed Mr. Putcha and his delegation, and then engineer Hanan Manoly gave a presentation about the city of Beit Sahour, its history, population, its areas and the professions of the inhabitants. She also spoke about the bypass road issue and about the land that has been confiscated from the people of the city. She tackled the future projects of the municipality and gave an overview of the various municipal departments and the aspirations of the municipality to provide better services for its citizens. She also talked about some of the major problems facing the municipalities in the region, including the fiscal deficit caused by expenses exceeding income. The delegation then toured the city and visited several organizations in the city including Beit Sahour Cultural and Heritage center “Dar Dakkarat” and then they dined in the newly-opened restaurant “Dar Al- Balad” Restaurant and Artisana which only opened a few days ago. At the end, Mr. Putcha thanked the Mayor for the warm reception and expressed his deep appreciation and he mentioned that Poland had funded the building of wells in Beit Sahour Government schools in the city in the past and promised to continue to support the city of Beit Sahour in the future. |
