Grand Opening of the Women's and Children's Clinic, May 12, 2009
With the cooperation of the Japanese Consulate in Jerusalem, in an $85,550 project, the Women's and Children's Clinic in Beit Sahour was renovated and expanded. A celebration, sponsored by Beit Sahour Municipality, was held to commemorate the project's completion and the clinic's opening.
Mayor Hani Al-Hayek, Dr. Mohammed Rizek, Director of the Ministry of Health-Bethlehem District, and Mr. Noriyuki TAKAHASHI, Second Secretary of the Japanese Consulate, all participated in the Grand Opening. event The Mayor, Dr. Rizek, and Mr. Takahashi all expressed pleasure at the success of the project and the hope to collaborate in the future on other projects to benefit Beit Sahour and the surrounding areas. The celebration was attended by presidents and representatives of all local community based organizations, the clinic staff and patients, and Beit Sahour Municipality staff. The reception was held at the Wild Life Society.
