First Visit from Clichy-la-Garenne, France

A delegation of four which included Mayor Gilles Catoire from the city of Clichy-la-Garenne made their first visit to Beit Sahour during a week long visit organized by The European Network of Local Authorities for Peace in the Middle East (COEPPO) and its partners from October 10 to 14 2009.
The delegation enjoyed a dinner at Ush Ghurab Peace Park on October 13, 2009 with Mayor Hani Al-Hayek and members of the Municipal Council.

On the following day the delegation discussed possible cooperation activities between Clichy and Beit Sahour. The intended activities will focus on youth exchanges and development in social, educational and economic sectors.

A cooperation proposal will be drafted to include such activities to be carried out over a two year period which will be submitted to Clichy Municipality for their approval.

Clichy-la-Garenne is an industrial suburb located 6.4 km northwest of Paris and boasts a population of over 55,000, making it one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe.
